HOW
DO I GET TO WENDOVER?
Wendover is located 90 minutes west of the Salt Lake City International
Airport on Interstate 80 (I-80). From most Wasatch Front locales
the drive is two hours. The route is a completely four-lane
divided highway with a 75mph/120kph speed limit.
CAUTION: West Wendover, Nevada and Wendover,
Utah both have aggressive police departments that depend on
traffic ticket revenue for their livelihood. They operate radar
traps frequently on Wendover Boulevard to enforce the slow 35
mph speed limit in town. Motorcyclists should be aware that
Nevada has a helmet law, while Utah does not. The official Wendover is located at the "Big Bill" sign at the Wendover Hotel Casino. For cyclists, the best tactic is to use the
first I-80 exit after the Point of Entry and then pull into
either the Wendover or Silver Smith parking lots. You'll be
completely in Utah until you are on our private property. |
